As a previous recipient of the Phoenix Pride scholarship, I have continued to work hard at Barrett, the Honors College at ASU to ensure that your investment in my education is utilized to its fullest extent. Your investment in my education has allowed me to deepen my learning through unique experiences and the addition of the LGBT studies certificate on top of my rigorous curriculum. This past semester, I successfully defended my honors thesis and completed the requirements for my LGBT studies certificate program. My honors thesis consisted of resources for incorporating LGBTQ+ topics into undergraduate nursing programs, which I hope will lead to increased competency in LGBTQ+ topics amongst my peers.
